Michael McGinness

Mike is a 2003 graduate of the University of Maine, holding a B.S. in Business Administration, along with a certificate in School-Based Adventure Education.

 

Mike married his high school sweetheart and travelled around the country. On a whim they moved to North Carolina to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, through AmeriCorps. Shortly after, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Gulf Coast, and they were brought to help rebuild. These experiences left a lasting impression on their lives and a strong desire to help others.

 

After moving back to Maine, Mike and Hilary welcomed their first son. Mike chose to put his career on hold to be a stay-at-home Dad. They bought a vacant home, and he worked tirelessly renovating it back to a comfortable space. For the last 10 years he has been the primary educator, homeschooling his children, Braiden, Caleb, and Avery.

 

He loves being with family and the outdoors: fishing, kayaking, campfires, snowshoeing, and family snowball fights! Now that the kids are older, he is trying to couple his desire to help with his passion for personal finance. He is excited to be back to work for a business that is built around serving the needs of others.
